CHS Elburn Welcomes Congressman Hultgren to Meredith Road Facility

MAPLE PARK, Ill., May 30, 2017 – CHS Elburn recently welcomed Congressman Randy Hultgren at their Meredith Road facility located in Maple Park, Illinois. Congressman Hultgren took the opportunity to better understand the needs and challenges of farmers within his district and throughout the country.

Phil Farrell, CHS Elburn general manager, Dave Myers, agronomy manager, Mike Kinsella, grain operations manager and Don Pollnow, manager of the Meredith Road facility led the overview and tour.

Hultgren. “During my visit to the cooperative, I was struck by its demonstrated efficiency coupled with strong working relationships with farmers from all over. Transportation, fuel needs and federal legislation are key issues that we discussed. I’m proud of our farmers and will continue to stand with and for them in Congress.”

Northern Illinois Alliance Acquires Agronomy Supply Operations Of Kaufman Ag Services

CRESCENT CITY, Ill., Jan. 8, 2014 — Northern Illinois Alliance (“NIA”) in Crescent City, Ill. is pleased to announce it has acquired the Agronomy Supply Operations of Kaufman Ag Services in Onarga, Ill. 

Kent Kaufman, owner of Kaufman Ag Services, will continue with Northern Illinois Alliance as the Sales and Plant Manager. Kaufman explains, “Since 1979, it has been my privilege to serve the producers of this area their fertilizer, chemical, and application needs. Teaming up with Northern Illinois Alliance will enable me to tap into their vast reserve of products, equipment, and expertise to provide an enhanced level of service to our customers.”

Northern Illinois Alliance will continue to operate the agronomy plant on Highway 49. John Husk, Board Chair of Northern Illinois Alliance, explains, “This partnership with Kent allows us to continue to grow our footprint in the area. We are pleased to have Kent as part of our team, and we look forward to offering complete agronomic services to our customers in the Crescent City area.”

Elburn Cooperative Welcomes Badger Grain

CHS Elburn has completed its acquisition of Wisconsin-based Badger Grain Co., taking over ownership of the company as of July 8.

Badger customers will continue to receive the same excellent, personalized service as before, says John Husk, general manager of CHS Elburn. Additionally, patrons will benefit from planned expansions of services including agronomy services and supplies as well as fuels.

Elburn’s newest location is at 461 W. Madison St., Darien, Wis. offers patrons grain merchandising services as well as grain drying and storage.  In addition the Darien customers will have the benefit of additional farm to market trucking services utilizing Elburn’s tractor trailer fleet.

“This acquisition enables us the opportunity to increase services for patrons in southern Wisconsin,” says Husk. “Furthermore, it gives us the ability to load rail cars bound for the Chicago corn processor market. It also adds to our current presence in the truck to processor and river market in which we are a major player.

“The ability to participate in all regional markets improves our ability to add value to our patrons,” Husk adds.
