On Friday, April 21, 2017, CHS Elburn employee Michael Kinsella presented a Honda generator and a DeWalt drill to the Technical Rescue Team of the Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District. The generator and drill will be used in conjunction with a Recuse Auger, donated by the Kane County Farm Bureau. These donations give them the tools they need to prepare for an incident in our farm community.
The Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District has a great working relationship with CHS Elburn. The fire department does annual walk-throughs of several CHS Elburn facilities. The purpose of these walk-throughs is to understand the facilities, identify hazards and determine how to handle possible emergencies.
“Having a drill and generator, combined with the donation of the Rescue Auger, will increase our speed in the removal of grain around a trapped person” said Trevor Hall, Technical Rescue Team Coordinator, “We will use these tools for training to prepare in the event of an emergency.”
CHS Elburn is grateful to have a great fire department to work with in case of any future emergencies and is proud to support them.
