chs elburn partners with crossview church to bring relief to texas

DEKALB, Ill., Sept. 15, 2017 – CHS Elburn teamed up with Crossview Church of DeKalb to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Using their CHS Days of Service, which includes two days of paid community volunteerism, CHS Elburn employees, Paul Radtke and Paul Ramm, drove through the night to Texas to distribute locally donated items.

Crossview Church collected donations over the course of several weeks, filling the 53-foot tractor-trailer donated by Blackhawk Moving and Storage, with items such as water, diapers and cleaning products. Members of the church volunteered their time to help load and organize the trailer.

Hurricane Harvey is the strongest hurricane to hit the U.S. in more than a decade, causing immense flooding and damage to Texas’ Gulf Coast.

When approached to drive the trailer to Texas, it was a no-brainer for Radtke, “Our thoughts are with the people of Texas who have lost so much, said Radtke “we are happy to extend a helping hand”
